Eric Ronay
Eric Ronay, President and “Chief Recycling Officer” established ECO-CELL as the cell phone recycling program for environmentally focused fund raising. His interest lies in the social and environmental impact of the technology trade and he strives to promote more responsible consumption practices and higher standards for the manufacture of technology.
Unlike the others who are only interested in high-value items, Eric demonstrates his commitment to the environment by making sure that ECO-CELL pays something for every phone collected. ECO-CELL also accepts all accessories and batteries, often at a cost to the company. He considers ECO-CELL to be the sausage factory of e-cycling: “We recycle everything but the squeal.”
Eric can be reached via email or toll free at 888-326-3357 (ext 1).
Lindsey Ronay
Lindsey Ronay serves as Vice President of Operations. Lindsey provides support and direction for collection campaigns, handles finances and partner payments, and coordinates sponsorships and related events. Working with charities and non-profit organizations has long been one of Lindsey’s passions.
Lindsey is an avid cyber coupon “clipper” and believes one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Unfortunately, her frugality does not extend to her insatiable desire for the latest and greatest in mobile technology. Her guilt is somewhat assuaged by the fact that she knows a great company that will recycle her old electronics.
Lindsey can be reached via email or toll free at 888-326-3357 (ext 2).
Brian Heckel
Brian Heckel joined ECO-CELL in 2010 as Communications Director. Brian manages our website, the ECO-CELL blog, the ECOnnection newsletter and social media. Brian also handles public relations and media and marketing communications.
Brian’s first computer was a Commodore-64, which still resides in his basement. He spends his free time renovating a 1925 bungalow and teaching his labradoodle Guinness to dance. Other websites with Brian’s touch: Brian Hates Cancer blog and University of Louisville College of Arts and Sciences.
Brian can be reached via email or toll free at 888-326-3357 (ext 3).
Ben Parrott
Ben Parrott, a Natural Resources Conservation and Management graduate of the University of Kentucky, became an ECO-CELL intern in August 2010. Ben works in the warehouse with Eric where he processes and sorts cell phones, performs data entry, and prepares partner welcome kits.
Ben enjoys camping, live music, photography and fancies himself a bit of a writer. The writer he most admires - native Louisvillian Hunter S. Thompson. (Ben is ECO-CELL's resident wild child.)
Ben can be reached via email.
Skeeter
Skeeter joined ECO-CELL as the VP for Animal Affairs in 2010 after being sprung from the local pound by the Ronays. He accompanies Eric every day to the warehouse and serves as his trusted advisor and confidante.
Skeeter is a ChiBeagle or a ChiBrussell but he thinks he is a Great Dane. Although he keeps it from Eric, his best friend is a semi-feral tabby cat named Xan. In his spare time, Skeeter enjoys dressing up as a taco but his taco hat drives him bonkers.
Skeeter is old-fashioned and can only be reached via telegraph, smoke signal, or high frequency whistle.
